Privacy Policy
This policy explains what MovingToBase.com ("MovingToBase," "we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Information you give us. When you request quotes: your name, email, phone, where you're moving from, report date, home size, vehicles, the services you select, and any notes. If you use the BAH calculator before requesting quotes, your pay grade, dependent status, and rent budget may be included. Waitlist and partner forms collect what they ask for.
- Visit information. Your IP address, an approximate location based on it (city and state), device type, browser, operating system, pages viewed, time on page, and the site that referred you. We set one cookie to recognize repeat visits.
- Information stored only on your device. Your PCS checklist progress is saved in your browser, not on our servers.
We never ask for Social Security, bank, ID, or card numbers, and our forms reject them.
How we share your request
When you request quotes, we share your request with up to 3 independent local businesses for each service you select, so they can contact you. These businesses pay us for the introduction. We only share with businesses for the services you checked, and we don't sell your information to data brokers or for unrelated advertising.
Providers are independent companies with their own privacy practices. We don't control how they handle your information once they receive it.
How we use your information
- To connect you with the providers you asked for
- To follow up about your request, including asking how providers treated you
- To notify you when a base guide launches, if you joined a waitlist
- To understand how the site is used and keep it secure
Calls and texts
By checking the consent box on a quote form, you agree that MovingToBase and the selected providers may contact you by phone, text, and email, including with automated technology. Consent isn't required to buy anything. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or tell the caller to stop calling.
How long we keep it
Visit records are deleted after one year. Requests are kept as long as needed for our business records, or until you ask us to delete them.
Service providers
To estimate city and state from an IP address, we send the address to a geolocation service (FreeIPAPI). Our website is hosted by a third-party host.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email using its link, block or delete cookies in your browser, or ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@MovingToBase.com. Residents of some states have additional rights, including the right to opt out of the sharing of personal information; email us to use them.
Children
MovingToBase is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
